Self Portraits

The staff and Children at Pre-School have had a great first week back. We have all been settling back in and have been doing lots of fun and exciting activities.

In particular the children have enjoyed learning all about themselves and their friends, they have been making self portraits using paper plates and various other resources.

They would use a mirror to look at themselves in and then recreate their faces uses the various resources.

This prompted lots of discussion about what made them the same as their friends and what made them different.

"My eyes are blues but yours are brown so they are different." "I have long yellow hair and you have brown short and spikey hair." "My skin is light pink and yours isn't, yours is brown but that's okay because everyone is different".

The children spent a considerable amount of time at this activity and enjoyed comparing their faces to their friends.
