The children at the Pre-School enjoyed making fairy cakes yesterday.
This activity stemmed from the children wanting to make their friend some cakes as it was their birthday. They began by making their own cakes in the role play, a child then approached a member of staff and asked 'can me make real ones please.'
From this activity the children enjoyed weighing out their own ingredients using their own scales, this opened up lots of conversation and excitement watching the scales balance with the correct amount of ingredients.
